Welcome to Oliphant! When you arrive in Oliphant you will notice that the shoreline looks much different from other towns along the Lake Huron coast. The shore has a rugged beauty distinctly different from the sandy beaches just a few kilometers south in Sauble Beach. Oliphant is a coastal meadow marsh that includes sand dune ridges in some locations. This area is home to several endangered species such as the Piping Plover, Dwarf Lake Iris and Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake As you look out across the water you can see several Islands that serve as a natural barrier that helps to protect the shoreline from the wild winds that can blow off the lake. As you travel inland from the water you find many homes and cottages nestled in heavily wooded lots.
